A/Professor Hugh McGregor is a specialist general surgeon with a national and international reputation in hernia surgery and abdominal wall reconstruction. He is an A/Professor of Surgery at The University of Queensland and currently serves as President of the Australia & New Zealand Hernia Society (ANZ Hernia).

His practice is focused on the management of simple, complex, recurrent, and chronic pain-related hernia conditions, with particular expertise in laparoscopic hernia surgery, robotic hernia surgery, and advanced abdominal wall procedures.

A/Professor McGregor is also highly experienced in proctology, endoscopy, and colonoscopy. He has performed more than 6000 operations for haemorrhoids, fistulas, fissures, and related anorectal conditions, and continues to perform endoscopy and colonoscopy on a weekly basis.
